A Brigade
idea should be passed through the Mentor Moms for approval. The
Special Event/Hospitality teams will be apprised and will activate
the Brigade, which should be carried out in groups of at least two
people. Emails will be dispatched with particulars as to what is
needed when and where. Details will include whether kids are allowed
to participate.
Our
first Brigade is to help a young Mom-to-be who has been evacuated
from Marrero, Louisiana. She escaped Hurricane Katrina with only
the clothes on her back. This young woman is going to deliver her
baby around the second week of October. She resides at a Baptist
encampment near DeRidder, Louisiana.
This
soon-to-be-Mom is in need of everything a Mom and infant could need,
particularly an infant car seat. Our MOPS group will be collecting
supplies and packaging them for shipment on September 28th at Denise's
home from 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Angie Baggett will be hosting
a baby shower for the new Mom around October 7th, and we need to
be sure our donations arrive in time.
